Vaughan Dance Academy is committed to teach more than dance.  We are focused to extend their education to learn poise, self-esteem, and grace.  We offer a variety of classes to meet the interest and needs of our community.

Toddler & Me (2 years):
Creative Movement/Tumbling – 30 minutes
Attire:   Pink Ballet Slippers, Pink tights, Leotard (Any color).  Hair needs to be secured up in a bun, ponytail or braids. Moms – any comfortable clothes you can move in, socks or bare feet.
Tiny Tots (3 years):
Ballet/Tap/Tumbling – 45 minutes
Attire: Pink Ballet Slippers, Black Tap Shoes, Pink Tights, Pink Leotard. Hair needs to be secured up in a bun, ponytail or braids.
Predance 1 (4 years):
Ballet/Tap/Tumbling – 1 hour
Attire: Pink Ballet Slippers, Black Tap Shoes, Pink Tights, Black Leotard Hair needs to be secured up in a bun, ponytail or braids.
Predance 2 (5 years):
Ballet/Tap/Tumbling – 1 hour
Attire: Pink Ballet Slippers, Black Tap Shoes, Pink Tights, Black Leotard Hair needs to be secured up in a bun, ponytail or braids.
Predance 3 (6 years):
Ballet/Jazz/Tumbling – 1 hour
Attire:  Pink Ballet Slippers, Pink Tights, Black Leotard. Hair needs to be secured up in a bun, ponytail or braids.
Tumbling – Beginner:
All Ages – 1 hour
No experience necessary. Class works on tumbling basics – somersaults, straddle rolls, cartwheels, round offs, handstands, headstands, bridges, front and back limbers.  Attire: any form fitting dancewear, bare feet and hair secured up.
Tumbling – Intermediate:
All Ages – 1 hour
Must be able to do a front limber and back limber unassisted. Class works on intermediate tumbling skills – front/back limbers, front/back walk-overs, basic contortion, start aerial work with spot.  Attire: any form fitting dancewear, bare feet and hair secured up. 
Advanced Tumbling - Flip
Tumbling Advanced:
All Ages – 1 hour
Must be able to do an aerial cartwheel or back handspring with no spot.  Class works on advanced tumbling skills, aerial work, contortion and tumbling combos.
Attire: any form fitting dancewear, bare feet and hair secured up. 
Ballet:
Our ballet classes consist of classical ballet technique. Most classes will consist of barre work, center and a performance piece for the annual recital. Technical skills will vary upon level. Attire: Pink ballet slippers, black leotard and pink tights, hair secured in a bun.
Experience: Beginner: 0-1 yrs; Intermediate I: 2-3 yrs; Intermediate II: 3-5 yrs; Advanced: 6+ years
Jazz:
This discipline of dance is seen in musical theater, commercial, and entertainment industries. Each class will teach technical skills and cover some terminology in ballet. Classes will consist of warm-up exercises, crossings, center combinations and a performance piece for the annual recital. Attire: Form-fitting dancewear, slip-on black jazz shoes, hair secured back.
Tap:
Our tap classes consist of tap technique and focus on steps and vocabulary. Taking tap technique helps students develop coordination and the ability to understand rhythms. Students will also learn a performance piece for the annual recital. Attire: Black tap shoes, form-fitting dancewear. No jeans!
Lyrical:
Lyrical is a form of dance that is done to contemporary music and is designed to express the music through movement. Some ballet and jazz terminology will be taught to students. Students will also perform a piece in the annual recital: Attire: Form-fitting dancewear, dance paws, hair secured back.
Hip Hop:
Hip Hop is a street style of dance that is fun and energetic. It is currently one of the most popular forms of dance and is seen in pop culture today. Class time will consist of strength exercises, breakdancing, combinations and learning a performance piece for the annual recital. Attire: Clothes that you can move in and gym shoes. No jeans!
Contemporary:
Contemporary borrows from ballet and modern. It uses both the strong and controlled legwork of ballet and the contact-release, floor work, fall, and recovery, and improvisation characteristic of modern dance Students will also perform a piece in the annual recital: Attire: Form-fitting dancewear, bare feet, hair secured back.
