Owner/Manager
Samantha Vaughan has been managing Vaughan Dance Academy since 2004, continuing the legacy her mother, Sandra Vaughan, began in 1972. Samantha holds a BA in Dance (Columbia College Chicago, 2008, honors) and a BS in Accounting (University of Illinois at Chicago, 2003). She holds a Module 1 Certification from Acrobatic Arts and a Core Mat I Certification from Power Pilates.
For over two decades, Samantha has been teaching dance to the Plainfield and surrounding areas, sharing her passion for all dance styles with students of every age. As the lead director of INNOVATION Dance Company, Vaughan Dance Academy’s acclaimed competition team, she inspires excellence and artistry. Samantha also dedicates herself to nurturing young talent in the academy’s Predance Program, where she focuses on building fundamental techniques and, most importantly, fostering a lifelong love for dance.
Samantha’s foundational dance training began with her mother, Sandra Vaughan. She also attended the Joliet Ballet Society under the direction of Claudette Soltis. She received additional training under Vikki Vigna (VDA), Dina Meier (Boston Conservatory), and Julie Primiano (Milwaukee Ballet Theater).
Beyond the academy, Samantha’s choreography has graced musicals for NightBlue Theater, and she’s taught technique for PCHS and PEHS pom squads. When she’s not immersed in the world of dance, Samantha enjoys gardening and nature. She’s also a wife, a mom to her fur babies and an avid coffee drinker.
